Pope Francis’ peace walk from Cuba to US to make world peace.
World is surprised Pope francis’ peace walk!
Pope Francis arrived in US from Cuba on Tuesday afteroon with a message of reconclation fro the former Col War foes while avoiding controversy on the US trade embargo or human rights on the Commnist-run island.
Although He is 78 years old, he chose to go United States to help mediate the detente between Cuba and United States. President Obama escorted Francis as he saluted the crowd, the Vatican and U.S. flags fluttered from the cockpit as the plane where an honor guard, dignitaries, clerics and schoolchildren waited. A high school band had set the mood earlier with a rendition of Pharrell Williams’ Happy.
Pope Francis will visit to three cities in U.S. during six days. he will meet address Congress, speak at the United Nations in New York and take part in a Vatican conference on families in Philadelphia. He is expected to urge U.S to take better care of the environment and the poor and return to its founding ideals of religious liberty and open arms toward immigrants.
In Cuba, Francis basked in the adulation of Cubans grateful to him for brokering the re-establishment of diplomatic relations between the U. S. and the communist island. The Pope is expected to raise the “normalization” process while in Washington, where Congress alone can lift the embargo long opposed by the Vatican.
Seattle! In addition to the Statue of Lenin in Fremont, the tomb of Bruce Lee, the overwhelmingly liberal political views, and of course its grunge music, Seattle is the birthplace of Starbucks, which could be seen in almost every block of Seattle and its suburb cities. People say that Seattleites developed their love for coffee, because of the cloudy and rainy weather. Although Seattle has one of the best summers in the nation, only small showers can be seen during the other seasons. It is definitely a misconception that Seattle has a high precipitation, because one research shows that Seattle ranks 44th among major U.S cities in regards to annual inches of rain. (Houston, Texas even has a higher precipitation than Seattle.) On the other hand, Seattle has a higher amount of days with precipitation.
Due to the large number of days with rain in Seattle, tourists will see locals of Seattle with a tumbler. Coffee in Seattle replaces water. (Even at this late hour, I am writing this post while drinking coffee.) This naturally created a culture of coffee in Seattle. Also being the birthplace of the Starbucks, Seattle’s Best Coffee (which is currently owned by Starbucks), and Tully’s Coffee, Seattleites spend an average of $36 on coffee according to a study. Also it showed that there are approximately 35 coffeehouses per 100,000 residents. Along with these chains, there are many other individual coffeehouses that produces its own taste. It is even said that many baristas often visit Seattle’s coffeehouses to study.
Baristas in Seattle also experimented with coffee. Latte art, an artistic method of preparing coffee by pouring milk on the espresso, begun in Seattle by a barista named David Schomer. Espresso Vivace, a coffeehouse owned by David Schomer, is still visited by many baristas from around the world.
After learning, where I am from, many people tell me about their fantasy of being sleepless in Seattle with their cup of coffee as they ponder about something great. Yes, nowadays, Seattle is filled with international corporations and companies that represent Seattle. With the research of University of Washington and these companies, Seattle is leading the field in science and technology. Of course, these innovations came from a cup of brilliance, but it could have been coffee that stayed with the people all night.
♣ Did you know that September 21th was World Peace Day?
Yesterday was just International Day of Peace~.~♥
I want ‘peace world’ every day
My dream is to create a peaceful world!
UN, ≡ Welcome to the United Nations.
It’s your world.
It’s our peace world~♥
– UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon
Each year the International Day of Peace is observed around the world on 21 September. The General Assembly has declared this as a day devoted to strengthening the ideals of peace, both within and among all nations and peoples.
The theme of this year’s commemoration is “Partnerships for Peace – Dignity for All” which aims to highlight the importance of all segments of society to work together to strive for peace.
The work of the United Nations would not be possible without the initial partnerships that were active in its creation and the thousands of partnerships each year between governments, civil society, the private sector, faith-based groups and other non-governmental organizations that are needed to support the Organization in achieving its future goals.
The International Day of Peace was established in 1981 by resolution 36/67PDF document of the United Nations General Assembly to coincide with its opening session, which was held annually on the third Tuesday of September. The first Peace Day was observed in September 1982.
In 2001, the General Assembly by unanimous vote adopted resolution 55/282PDF document, which established 21 September as an annual day of non-violence and cease-fire.
The United Nations invites all nations and people to honour a cessation of hostilities during the Day, and to otherwise commemorate the Day through education and public awareness on issues related to peace.

HWPL held the World Alliance of Religions Peace Summit (WARP) in South Korea
Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light (HWPL), a non-governmental and non-profit peace organization is hosting the World Alliance of Religions’ Peace (WARP) Summit of 1st Annual Commemoration.
Prior to the first day of the official event, on September 17th 2015, a press conference was held with over 30 journalists, reporters, and chief editors from major international broadcasting stations representing 15 countries.
- Chairman ManHeeLee’s Speech
The purpose of HWPL and the duty of the press and media in stopping armed conflicts and achieving world peace.
“First of all, we have to carefully examine what is behind the scenes of armed conflicts. In order to stop wars, a rigid system is needed to bring forth a practical solution for peace. That solution is the international convention on the cessation of war and achievement of world peace. The purpose of HWPL is to bring about the cessation of war and establish peace as an inheritance for future generations. Certainly, world peace will be achieved if all reporters are accountable for accurate reporting standards and continually report on peace.” Chairwoman Kim of the IWPG added, “All reporters and journalists have to become the eyes and mouths of all people to widely deliver the message of peace accurately and quickly. This is the responsibility of the media.”
the 1st Annual Commemoration of the WARP Summit will serve as a platform for world leaders from all sectors of society to discuss the progress on two major works of HWPL: the Implementation of an International Convention on the Cessation of War and Achievement of World Peace and the establishment of the World Alliance of Religions’ Peace Offices.
Over the course of two days, the Summit will feature the presentation of the first draft of the Convention on the Cessation of War and Achievement of World Peace prepared by members of HWPL’s Peace Advisory Council and International Law Committee. As these legal professionals will continue to carry out the project based on the convention drafted at the event, expectations are high for its outcome.
Held just before the UN’s International Day of Peace, the 1st Annual Commemoration of the WARP Summit will serve as a platform for world leaders from all sectors of society to discuss the progress on two major works of HWPL: the Implementation of an International Convention on the Cessation of War and Achievement of World Peace and the establishment of the World Alliance of Religions’ Peace Offices. It expects to highlight September as the “Month of Peace.”
Suraj Bhattarai, English News Editor of Himalaya Television in Nepal also asked about the roles of IWPG and IPYG in urging the implementation of the convention on the cessation of war. Chairwoman Kim replied, “A bird cannot fly with only one wing. Likewise, IWPG and IPYG serve as the two wings of peace, making it possible for HWPL to soar. We have clearly seen that the development of weapons and armed forces have not guaranteed to bring peace to us. If we continue what we’ve been doing, we will not only inherit a world of war but also the destruction of mankind for our future generations. Therefore, we call women and youth of the world to sign a statement to urge for the implementation of the convention on peace. We will work until the time when we can inherit a sustainable peace as an eternal legacy for our children.”
HWPL is taking the lead in peace-building in response to a world rife disputes and conflicts. such efforts are evident from not only the upcoming commemorative event but also with the peace activities of the two affiliated organizations of HWPL – IWPG and IPYG. HWPL is striving to promote world peace and prosperity of mankind by presenting the most peaceful solution to the structural problems that our society is currently facing.
