Peace in the Park, San Francisco Style

San Francisco has always been a place that emulates community in all of it’s splendor and color. The Golden Gate Park is a playground for all ages filled with art, gardens, nature, and wonder. Ground zero to the peace, love, and flower power ideals of the 60’s, this city continues to inspire, innovate, and celebrate life. The endless possibilities that life holds for us when we come together respectfully to honor each others differences while sharing our common humanity must be actively pursued and prioritized if we are to glimpse our fullest potential. These are some of the reasons why Peace in the Park Festival is one of the anchor events for World Peace Weekend September 19-21

The progressive ideals of the city also make it home to some very innovative and impactful non-profits and social, humanitarian ventures. Many of these great organizations have come to support, and volunteer to make this great, free event possible. The cultural diversity of this region also allows for an awe-inspiring day of performances, revelry, and discovery. Yoga, conscious cuisine, children’s activities, and the globally synchronized meditation at 5 pm local time with satellite events around the world promises to make this a weekend to remember.

Where tradition and history alive

One of my bucket list would have been to Egypt.  Pyramids, museums, markets and people …. It seemed important to first learn about Egypt before I can make my trip to Egypt.

Flag of Egypt.

Flag_of_Egypt.svg

The flag of Egypt (Egyptian Arabic: علم مصر, IPA: [ˈʕælæm ˈmɑsˤɾ]) is a tricolour consisting of the three equal horizontal red, white, and black bands of the Arab Liberation flag dating back to the Egyptian Revolution of 1952. The flag bears Egypt’s national emblem, the Eagle of Saladin centered in the white band.

Language

The official language of the Republic is Modern Standard Arabic.[11] Arabic was adopted by the Egyptians after the Arab invasion of Egypt.   Thespoken languages are: Egyptian Arabic (68%), Sa’idi Arabic (29%), Eastern Egyptian Bedawi Arabic (1.6%), Sudanese Arabic (0.6%), Domari (0.3%),Nobiin (0.3%), Beja (0.1%), Siwi and others. Additionally, Greek, Armenian and Italian are the main languages of immigrants. In Alexandria in the 19th century there was a large community of Italian Egyptians and Italian was the “lingua franca” of the city.

The main foreign languages taught in schools, by order of popularity, are English, French, German and Italian.

Religion

Egypt is a predominantly Sunni Muslim country with Islam as its state religion. The percentage of adherents of various religions is a controversial topic in Egypt. An estimated 90% are identified as Muslim, 9% as Coptic Christians, and 1% as other Christian denominations.  Non-denominational Muslims form roughly 12% of the population

Culture

Egypt is a recognized cultural trend-setter of the Arabic-speaking world. Contemporary Arabic and Middle-Eastern culture is heavily influenced by Egyptian literature, music, film and television. Egypt gained a regional leadership role during the 1950s and 1960s, giving a further enduring boost to the standing of Egyptian culture in the Arabic-speaking world

Peace Quotes

peace quotes - einstein 1

“Peace cannot be kept by force; it can only be achieved by understanding.”
― Albert Einstein

peace quotes - martin luther 1

“Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that.
Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.”
-Martin Luther King, Jr.

peace quotes - manheelee 1“As the light, rain, and air of heaven give life to all creation,
let us love this world. Love will achieve world peace and restoration.”
– Man hee Lee

A World of Peace

This is a dream that we weren’t able to see, in the few thousand years of humanity. It always was in our dreams and hope, but it was never seen until this last few months of hope. It is definitely an excitement that is incomparable to the excitement day before the new Apple model comes out or our favorite game. People wait outside the store in lines to be the first group of people to purchase and enjoy the moment they waited for. Well, mankind waited more years for this day to come. Then, where should we stand to wait in line?

I think the HWPL has provided a solution for that. This place, where they should visit to purchase and enjoy the first taste of peace is the WARP Office and the Inter-faith dialogues between the religious leaders of a particular community. It is like a store chain that aims to reach out to the world to serve more people. This is the aim of the WARP Office. As more offices are being established around the world, more dialogues are created between the leaders to reach religious harmony. I think that as we are able to create peace in our little community with just the right amount of enthusiasm, we would be experience the world of peace.

[Imagine, John Lennon / Song by Shakira]  Peace Dreamers are speaking “The world will be as One”

John Lennon sang a song for the world peace and love for all human being, Imagine. This is a Shakira version song in UN’s General Assembly 2015. She is working for Child education. In this reason, This singing is touching more meaningful in me.

I love this part “Living Life in Peace.” I hope some day living life in peace. No tears because of war. No weapon. But living all the people as one.

You may say I’m a dreamer. But I’m not the only one.

I hope someday you will join us. And the world will be as one.

I’m sure we can be the one for Peace. No matter skin color, gender, age or even a religion. Peace is not a personal own. Every human being has the right for peace. I’m not the only one. And you are not the only one. Everyone want peace. Why not?  Let’s be a dreamer for peace. This dream will come true for sure.

–  Imagine –

Imagine there is no heaven

It’s easy if you try

No hell below us

Above us only sky

Imagine all the people

Living for today

Imagine there’s no countries

It isn’t hard to do

Nothing to kill or die for

And no religion, too

Imagine all the people

Living life in Peace

You may say I’m a dreamer

But I’m not the only one

I hope someday you will join us

And the world will be as one

Imagine no possessions

I wonder if you can

No need for greed or hunger

A brotherhood of man

Imagine all the people

Sharing all the world

You may say I’m a dreamer

But I’m not the only one

I hope someday you will join us

And the world will be as one

Peace song by Kye Kay

Garden full of the brightest range of colors, oh the sight is something I know
room full of family and friends, hear the laughter oh this sound is something I know
familiar roads with my windows rolled down oh the smell is something I know

but you gave life so not the way I thought
you gave love so not the way I knew

‘Cause there is no weeping,
there is no sorrow,
‘Cause you are holding me now theres no rules to follow
I know who you are now
I am running a different way
so overwhelmed
by you

Eleven years old there was pride running my shoulder
was a brick too hard to break
resisting the cold she is a young and humble mother
in a park she sits and waits
but when I looked into her eyes guess what I recognized
a love too strong to fake it

love you waited so patiently
for all this to finally hit me

‘Cause there is no weeping,
there is no sorrow,
‘Cause you are holding me now theres no rules to follow
I know who you are now
I am running a different way
so overwhelmedby you Jesus

‘Cause there is no weeping,
there is no sorrow,
‘Cause you are holding me now theres no rules to follow
‘Cause there is no weeping,
there is no sorrow,
‘Cause you are holding me now theres no rules to follow
I know who you are now
I am running a different way
so overwhelmed
by you Jesus

HWPL, Peace Completion!!

Peace Song with guitar
“War/No More Trouble”

peace

Until the philosophy which holds one race
 Superior and another inferior
Is finally and permanently discredited and abandoned
Oh, everywhere is war, say war

peace

 is war
 Children

peace

Until there are no longer first class
Second class citizens of any nation
Until the colour of man’s skin
Is of no more significance than the colour of his eyes
Everywhere is war, war
 Everywhere is war

peace

 Killing the brother, war
 Destroying the country, war
 For nothing, war
 For nothing, war
They going to take care of another brother
We don’t need no more war

peace

 Some winning, some losing
 Some dying, some crying
 Some singing
We don’t need no more trouble
We don’t need no more trouble
We don’t need no more trouble
Oh no, oh no no no
We don’t need no more trouble

peace song

We don’t need no more trouble
 We don’t need no…
