The Wave of Peace

As I read more and more about the peace activities, I ask myself, why this generation? Not that I view these peace activities negatively, but why couldn’t people become more aware of the demand for a peaceful world in the past generation? Of course, there were peace activities and like-minded groups, who devoted themselves to live a peaceful live by following certain codes. However, I do not think, the world has seen this much demand for peace. Maybe this is the climax for our history. Maybe, this is when everything becomes resolved and returns back to equilibrium. We have seen multiple number of conflicts since the beginning of the 21st century, which are far devastating than any other conflicts in our history. With the advanced technology and numerous amount of information and data, these dangers became a threat not only to the soldiers, Women & Youth conference in WARP summit hosted by HWPLbut also to the civilians. The days, where soldiers would meet on a battlefield to reach to a conclusion, were already past since the beginning of the 20th century. These battlefields now took place in neighborhood which automatically put the citizens into complete and open danger.

I think as more people experience this terror with their bare eyes, a peaceful world became more demanding to them. The war was no longer only affecting the country’s power and wealth, but affected the lives of those who occupied the homes inside the country. And mankind had capable firearms that were more dangerous than any weapon. This imminent threat started the wave of peace. In the center of the wave, there was Chairman Man Hee Lee, a veteran who experienced this tragedy as well. I may not be able to sympathize the pain that he had to endure, but I was inspired by his message that we need to leave this world as a better place to the next generation. I feel like unless we do not act now, we would be walking towards a catastrophe.

This is why liked-minded people like the members of HWPL and the participants of the WARP Summit joined together to create this wave. Wave is another possible natural disaster that could be dangerous. It gathers the water together to create a bigger wave. As we gather together, we would be able to create a powerful influence to destroy the conflicts and the war in this world. After the wave passes, we would see a new world and a new beginning. This new wave will change the world. As we increase our efforts to reach out to one another through the WARP Offices and the Summit along with the Peace Walk hosted by HWPL and every other individual peace events in the world to end all war, this would create a giant wave that will become a fresh start for us to create a new world. This world that will be left to our future generation.
